Ask Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant about your matters, deadlines and contracts in Squire - read-only until you allow more, and only the matters you choose.
You may already ask an AI assistant to help you think, write and plan. Connect it to Squire and it can answer from your own practice: what is due this week across your matters, whether the supply agreement has been signed, what happened on a matter while you were in court. It can keep your task list up to date as you go. And you decide exactly what it may see and do.
What's overdue or due this week across my matters?
Your open tasks from every matter you're on, soonest first.
Has the supply agreement been signed yet?
The contract's status, key dates, approval progress and who still has to sign.
What happened on Mokoena v Dlamini this week?
The matter's recent activity - tasks done, documents added, who did what.
Add a task to file the replying affidavit 10 court days from today.
It counts the court days and creates the task with its due date - if you've allowed it to add tasks.
Which contracts expire in the next 60 days?
From your contract repository, with dates still awaiting review flagged as such.
Show me the latest draft of the heads of argument.
The draft's current text, read-only.
Add Squire to your assistant
In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector and paste this link:
https://za-dev.squire.law/mcp
In Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http squire https://za-dev.squire.law/mcp
Sign in to Squire and choose what it may do
It starts read-only. Tick what else it may do - add and update tasks, say - and, if you like, limit it to particular matters.

The assistant appears under Settings › API Keys as a connected app. Disconnect it there whenever you want.
Worth knowing: what the assistant reads leaves Squire and is handled under your own agreement with that assistant's provider, not under Squire's no-training terms or its pseudonymisation. Connect only assistants your firm permits for client information.
35 tools, each needing a permission you grant. Everything is the same information you can see in Squire yourself - no more.
Your own agents can use the same MCP tools, and matters, tasks, notes and files are also available over a REST API. Both use API keys you create under Settings › API Keys: each holds only the permissions you give it, can be limited to particular matters, and can be revoked at any time. Read the API reference (sign-in required).
